Using labels (or tags) in WP Umbrella is a great way to stay organized and boost your productivity.
Labels let you group and filter websites based on maintenance plans, exceptions, or any custom criteria you prefer.
Estimated Time to Complete: 3–5 minutes
Prerequisites: An active WP Umbrella account with at least one connected website
In your WP Umbrella account, click on the “Label” tab from the left-hand menu to open the label management page.
From the label page, you can see all your existing labels. You’ll also have options to create new ones and assign websites under specific labels.
Click on the “Add label” button in the top-right corner.
Enter a Label Name
Optionally, add a Short Description
Customize the Label Color if you like
Once the label is created, click on the “0 sites” link next to the label, and select the websites you want to assign to it.
You can also assign labels directly from a website’s detail view:
Open the specific website/project
Click on the “Manage Label” button at the top
Select the labels you want to assign
Awesome! Your label is now set up and applied
To filter websites by label in your dashboard:
Click “Add filter”
Choose “Label”
Select the desired label to instantly filter your sites
Pro Tip: Labels are super handy for segmenting sites by care plans, maintenance exceptions, or any system that fits your workflow.
Can I edit or delete a label later?
Yes! You can edit or delete any existing label from the label management page.
What if I don’t see the “Manage Label” button?
Make sure you’ve selected a website and are viewing its page. Refresh the page if needed.
Can I assign multiple labels to a single website?
Absolutely! Websites can have more than one label.
Will removing a label unassign websites from it?
Yes, deleting a label will remove it from all associated websites. Make sure that’s what you want before confirming.
Can I assign multiple websites at once for the same label?
Of course! This can be done from the “Labels” page in your account, where you can select all the required sites and assign them in bulk to a single label.
And that’s it!
Now you can easily organize your websites using labels in WP Umbrella, whether for internal structure, maintenance planning, or simply to keep things neat. If you run into any hiccups, our support team is always here to help
