When you're using Cloudflare and want WP Umbrella to function properly, whitelisting our IP addresses is essential. This allows WP Umbrella to communicate effectively with your website, ensuring smooth monitoring and maintenance. 😊

✅Prerequisites: Access to your Cloudflare account and WP Umbrella’s IP addresses.
WP Umbrella uses four IP addresses, and it’s important to whitelist them all in Cloudflare.
They can be found here: https://wp-umbrella.com/ips-v4/
Start by logging into your Cloudflare account and select the domain you want to configure.
Once logged in, go to Security → Security Rules → Create Rule.
In the rule creation panel, follow these steps:
Expression Builder:
Click on "Custom rule" or use the expression builder
Add the WP Umbrella IP addresses using the following format:
(ip.src eq 62.4.26.31) or (ip.src eq 212.83.142.5) or (ip.src eq 212.129.45.77) or (ip.src eq 212.83.175.107)Important: Use or operators between IP addresses, not and.
Under "Then," select:
Action: Skip
Skip: Select "All" (or select the specific security components you want to allow)
Skip: Click "+ more components to skip" and select "All"
Give your rule a descriptive name (e.g., "WP Umbrella IP Whitelist") and save it.
WP Umbrella should now be able to access and monitor your website properly.
It is worth checking your Bot Fight Mode settings. Cloudflare's Bot Fight Mode can sometimes block our requests. If you are experiencing connection issues, you might need to disable it. If the issue persists after whitelisting in Cloudflare, reach out to your hosting provider's support with the following message:
"Hello,
We are using a plugin called WP Umbrella to manage our website. The plugin uses the WordPress REST API, but it seems that it's being blocked from functioning. Our team is currently receiving 401 unauthorized errors. Could you please whitelist the following IP addresses: https://wp-umbrella.com/ips-v4/
Their User-Agent is: WPUmbrella
Thank you for your assistance."
Whitelisting the IP addresses ensures WP Umbrella can communicate with your site without any interference, allowing seamless monitoring and maintenance.
Using "or" logic ensures that traffic from any of our IP addresses is allowed. Using "and" would require traffic to come from all IPs simultaneously, which is impossible and would block legitimate requests.
Double-check that:
All four IP addresses are included in your rule
You're using "or" logic between addresses, not "and"
The action is set to "Skip" with all components selected
If the issue persists, contact your hosting provider as described in Step 6.
If you're seeing a "401 Unauthorized" or "403 Forbidden" error in WP Umbrella, or a "No answer from WP Umbrella" message, it usually means our IP addresses are still being blocked. Follow the steps above to whitelist them.
While you can choose specific security components to skip, we recommend selecting "All" to ensure WP Umbrella functions without restrictions.
