This guide will walk you through setting up your custom sending domain and configuring the necessary DNS records.

Prerequisites: WP Umbrella installed on your WordPress site & access to your DNS provider settings.
Steps to Follow
Step 1: Navigate to Custom Sending Domain
Log in to your WP Umbrella dashboard
Go to Account Settings > Custom Sending Domain.

Step 2: Authenticate Your Domain

To allow WP Umbrella to send emails on behalf of your domain, you need to add the following DNS records at your DNS provider:
MX Records – Required for email delivery. These define which mail servers can accept incoming emails for your domain.
SPF Record – A TXT record that authorizes WP Umbrella to send emails from your domain.
DKIM Record – A TXT record that ensures the integrity and authenticity of emails sent from your domain.

Step 3: Verify Your Domain
Once you've added the required DNS records, return to the Custom Sending Domain page and click Verify Domain.
Important: DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, so you might not be able to verify immediately.

Step 4: Replace noreply@wp-umbrella.com with Your Own Domain
After verification, navigate to Reports > Email > Email From.
Select your custom sending domain.

Using Multiple Domains
Since May 2024, WP Umbrella now allows you to add multiple domains! This means you can use different email addresses and domains for sending reports.
How to Add an Additional Domain?
Go to Custom Sending Domains.
Click Add Domain in the top-right corner.
Follow the same DNS authentication process for each new domain.
Note: You must complete the DNS verification for each new domain before using it.

Why can’t I add my domain to WP Umbrella?
Your domain might already be registered with Mailgun. If this happens, contact us at support@wp-umbrella.com, and we’ll help resolve it.
My domain verification is failing. What should I do?
Double-check that you've correctly added all the required DNS records.
Wait up to 48 hours for full DNS propagation.
Clear your DNS cache or try checking from a different network.
Can I remove a sending domain later?
Yes! You can manage and remove domains anytime in Custom Sending Domains.
